AMD treatment suppressed the injury-induced increase in mRNA levels of RanBP1 (0.98 ± 0.34, 2.74) and β-actin (1.29 ± 0.42, 3.79) observed in untreated cells, suggesting that these genes were newly transcribed and transcripts were rapidly recruited to axons. The gene discussed is ACTB; the disease is age-related macular degeneration.
