Wang and coworkers [44] reported that genetic inhibition of HMGB-1 improved myocardial function in diabetic cardiomyopathy, suggesting that HMGB-1 contributes to myocardial dysfunction in diabetes and inhibition of HMGB-1 might have therapeutic potential in treatment of diabetic cardiomyopathy. This evidence concerns the gene HMGB1 and diabetic cardiomyopathy.
