The candidates selected for experimental validation are: lapatinib, a drug approved by the FDA for breast cancer patients, SB-202190, an inhibitor of p38 MAP kinase, RO-316233, a core structure of different biologically active molecules, GW786460X, an ATP-competitive inhibitor of TGF-β type I receptor, and indirubin-3′-monoxime, a potent inhibitor of glycogen synthase kinase 3β and cyclin-dependent kinases. This evidence concerns the gene MAPK14 and breast cancer.
