HTR1A and post-traumatic stress disorder: Clinical and preclinical studies have implicated stimulation and interaction of 5-HT1A, 5-HT1B, and 5-HT2A or 5-HT2C receptors in antidepressant and/or anxiolytic action in PTSD (Neumeister et al., 2013), but this emphasis may, in part, be an artifact related to the availability of ligands selected for these receptor subtypes.
