TH were more likely to have ever been diagnosed with BC than SH1 or SH2 individuals (68.1 % vs. 52.0 %; p = 0.002, and 67.4 % vs. 50.4 %; p = 0.002), and TH were more likely to be diagnosed with OC than SH2 women (16.9 % vs. 9.3 %; p = 0.017), which was not observed in TH vs. SH1 women, perhaps due to the lower incidence of OC in BRCA2 vs. BRCA1. Age at BC diagnosis was significantly different for TH vs. SH2 (40.5 years vs. 45.0 years; p < 0.001), but there was no difference between TH and SH1. The gene discussed is BRCA1; the disease is breast cancer.
