The effect of curcumin in P-gp expression was also demonstrated in other MDR cancer cell models, such as in a human MDR gastric cancer cell line [36], a human MDR colon cancer cell line [40], and a mouse MDR leukemia cell line [31], in which it was described that the inhibitory effect of curcumin in the expression of P-gp ultimately led to MDR modulation and cellular sensitization to common drugs. This evidence concerns the gene PGP and malignant colon neoplasm.
