Indeed, genetic and therapeutic inhibition of AXL is sufficient to decrease tumor growth in some tumor types including squamous cell carcinomas, Kaposi sarcomas, pancreatic adenocarcinomas, mesotheliomas, schwannomas, ocular melanomas, B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and glioblastomas [15,62,63,64,65,66,67].
