Other than VEGF inhibitors, on-going clinical trials that target individual CC-chemokine receptors have shown some success, including: (1) MLN1202 that targets CCR2 and causes reductions in circulating C-reactive protein in patients with high risk of atherosclerosis; and (2) Mogamulizumab that targets CCR4 and causes reductions in regulatory T cells in patients with adult T-cell leukemia-lymphoma (ATL) and peripheral T-cell lymphoma [81,121]. Here, CCR2 is linked to atherosclerosis.
