Unlike the NMR, in the rat, a tumor-prone rodent, we found some lncRNAs coexpressed with both NF2 and HAS2. HYAL2 is an enzyme responsible for regulating the degrading of HMM-HA which is the powerful trigger for the contact inhibition [7, 49], while NF2 (merlin) interacts with CD44 receptor and mediates the contact inhibition [50]; both of them were verified to play crucial roles in cancer resistance of NMR. This evidence concerns the gene HAS2 and neoplasm.
