Since EGFRvIII mutation that is widely expressed in GBM and other neoplasms has a neoepitope resulting from an in-frame deletion of a part of the extracellular domain of EGFR (Sampson et al., 2008; Guo et al., 2015), it might be an excellent target for CAR-engineered T cell therapy.
