Given the emerging role of GRK2 as a regulatory hub in heart metabolism and physiology, we have explored the role of GRK2 dosage in the development of obesity-induced cardiac remodeling and steatosis in 9 month-old mice, since obesity-related cardiac pathological events become more prevalent during adulthood. The gene discussed is GRK2; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
