The ability of TH9 cell-derived IL-9 to drive the activation of anti-cancer CD8 T cells was further confirmed recently as illustrated by Zhao et al., who found that immunization of tumor-bearing mice with dectin-1-activated DCs induced potent anti-tumor responses that depended on Th9 cells and the IL-9-dependent induction of anti-cancer CD8 T cells [28]. The gene discussed is IL9; the disease is neoplasm.
