This finding is relevant because elevated blood mRNA levels of Agr2 and Lgr5 are associated with poor outcome in patients with colorectal cancer.40 It is also noteworthy that in GFPhigh cells from mice fed n-3 PUFA+curcumin, the expression of Prom1/CD133, a colon cancer stem cell marker,41 and Cdx2, a prognostic biomarker in stage II and stage III colon cancer,42 were not modulated by AOM (Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene CDX2 and colorectal cancer.
