Our results indicate that the effects of MenaINV on tumor cell phenotype, including the sensitization of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs)43, invadopodium maturation, migration51 and dissemination48, result in part from the ability of MenaINV to limit PTP1B-dependent dephosphorylation of RTKs and cortactin in tumor cells resulting in MenaINV-dependent invadopodium maturation which is required for tumor cell intravasation9, 10, 15. The gene discussed is PTPN1; the disease is neoplasm.
