Our data indicate that in prostate cancer cells 5 nM docetaxel does not inhibit mTORC1 activity (as assessed by p-P70S6K), HIF-1α protein levels, SK1 activity and expression and that combining docetaxel with RAD001 allows a marked reduction in these signaling pathways (Figure 2; Supplementary Figure S2) and chemosensitization (Figure 1; Supplementary Figure S1).
