This current study is set with the aim of exploring the effect of the combination of RAD001 with conventional chemotherapeutic drug, docetaxel, on prostate cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. We have investigated the mTOR-mediated regulation of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) and SK1 pathways providing a mechanistic basis for further clinical application of RAD001 in prostate cancer therapy. This evidence concerns the gene MTOR and prostate carcinoma.
