CXCL8 and lung carcinoma: Interestingly, level of IL-8 was found to be decreased by ~8.1 folds (cancer: 16.5 ± 1.3 pg/ml; HD: 134.4 ± 23.9 pg/ml; P < 0.0001) but MMP-9 level was found to be increased by ~1.6 folds (cancer: 1126.2 ± 112.4 ng/ml; HD: 703.6 ± 98.2 ng/ml; P < 0.05) in lung cancer patients compared to HD.
