Interestingly, the basal activation of MAPK pathway was evident in these cells, among which the activation of p-JNK was significantly down-regulated by uttroside B. Moreover, PMA-induced activation of p-42/44 was also down-regulated by uttroside B suggesting a significant role for this pathway in regulating the anticancer potential of uttroside B against liver cancer [Fig. 5(C)]. This evidence concerns the gene MAPK8 and liver cancer.
