We observed no significant differences in other inflammatory biomarkers between women with and without PCOS (e.g. interleukins, TNF-α, resistin, MMP-2, MMP-9, MCP-1), as opposed to what has previously been reported by others.[7,8,39–41] This may be due to the relatively low BMI of women with PCOS included in the current study, even in the overweight HA-PCOS group in which the average BMI did not exert 30 kg/m2. The gene discussed is MMP9; the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome.
