YAP1 and neoplasm: As decreased expression of RASSF1A has been reported in various cancers, which accounts for the tumour suppressor function of RASSF1A, these findings provide one possible mechanism by which elevated RASSF1A levels may contribute to apoptosis through enhancing MST–LATS–YAP phosphorylation (i.e. hyperactivation of the Hippo pathway).
