NPPB and Meniere disease: Our recent study [87] has shown that salt-reduced diet with no administration of thiazide is an effective treatment in Meniere’s disease, and that during 2-year treatment period, salt-reduced diet induced the elevation of plasma aldosterone concentration with no change in other hormones, such as vasopressin, cortisol, and brain natriuretic peptide in patients with Meniere’s disease as the elevation of plasma aldosterone concentration has been reported in patients with hypertension [88].
