The Reduction of End points in Non-insulin-dependent diabetes with the Angiotensin II Antagonist Losartan (RENAAL) study [6] reported that treatment with the ARB losartan (50–100 mg once daily) delayed time to the first cardiovascular event, decreased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, reduced proteinuria and decreased the rate of the progression of renal disease in patients with type 2 diabetes and nephropathy. The gene discussed is AGT; the disease is kidney disorder.
