LAMP1 and infection: When cells were stained for the lysosome marker LAMP1 during infection, the partial colocalization of M2 with LAMP1 was seen only when M2 accumulated densely in the Golgi region, and TRAPPC6AΔ did not colocalize with LAMP1 at any time point (Fig. 9B and C), indicating that the role of TRAPPC6AΔ is not to target M2 to the lysosome during its posttranslational transport to the apical cell surface.
