Recent studies have suggested that mutations in cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interferon gamma (IFN-γ), interleukin-18 (IL-18) [8], IL-6 [9], IL-4 [10], and IL-17 [11], were associated with the risk of HCC. This evidence concerns the gene IFNG and hepatocellular carcinoma.
