Rats ingesting the high sucrose diet and receiving SS (MS + SS) exhibited more than three of the signs that constitute the cluster of MS; namely they had significantly increased levels of TG, SBP, insulin, HOMA index, leptin, and AGEs in comparison with C + SS and MS + AGE (p < 0.05, p = 0.01 and p = 0.001 respectively, Table 1). The gene discussed is INS; the disease is myeloid sarcoma.
