In summary, our data show that AHCC feeding to stressed mice results in (i) restoration of the functions of immune cells; (ii) reduced genital tract chlamydia shedding in AHCC-fed mice; and (iii) enhanced production of IFN-γ or TNF-α by T cell co-cultured with IL-1β producing monocytes. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and chlamydia trachomatis infectious disease.
