In cervical cancer many HPV-integration sites have been identified, including a few hot spots in POU5F1B (near c-MYC) (9.7%), FHIT (8.7%), KLF12 (7.8%), HMGA2 9 (7.8%), KLF5 (6.8%), LRP1B (5.8%), LEPREL1 (4.9%), DLG2 (4.9%) and SEMA3D (4.9%) [56], whereas no integration hot spots (including in or near c-MYC) have been reported in HNSCC [34]. Here, MYC is linked to cervical carcinoma.
