ADIPOQ and Insulin resistance: The prenatal exposure of fetuses, through the exposition of pregnant mice at doses of BPA (5, 50, 500, 5000 μg/kg/day), induced postnatal body weight gain, impairment of glucose tolerance and insulin resistance with hyperinsulinemia, an increase in adipocyte number and volume with consequent increase in abdominal fat, and an increase in adiponectin and leptin levels mainly in the group of male fetus treated with 500 μg/kg/day.
