In this study, the role of PKM2 in leptin-induced EMT in breast cancer cells is investigated; it is suggested that leptin promoted EMT in breast cancer cells via the upregulation of PKM2 expression as well as activation of PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, and PKM2 might be one of the key points and potential targets for breast cancer therapy. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and breast cancer.
