In this study, we demonstrate that iASPP not only inhibits the DNA-binding and transcriptional functions of p53 on the promoters of its downstream genes but also represses the expression of p53-responsive miR-34a, leading to the promotion of proliferation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), invasion and cancer stem cell-like properties of CC cells. This evidence concerns the gene PPP1R13L and cancer.
