FUS is a nuclear DNA/RNA‐binding protein that is the pathological hallmark protein in abnormal cytoplasmic and nuclear inclusions in some cases of frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).17 It contains two structured nucleotide‐binding domains and several disordered regions.
