In IL-14α transgenic mice during the early stages of SS, as in patients with early lacrimal gland injury, predominantly IgM antibodies are noted [64], while patients with long-standing SS or secondary SS associated with rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or systemic sclerosis, have predominantly IgA and to a lesser degree IgG autoantibodies (manuscript in review). The gene discussed is CD40LG; the disease is synovial sarcoma.
