The presence of pre-DM was 53.9, 77.2, and 43.2%, respectively, across the HMGB-1 tertiles (X2 = 3.108, P trend = 0.026), whereas the presence of nT2DM was 10.5, 12.7, and 54.1%, respectively (X2 = 44.07, P trend < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene HMGB1 and diabetes mellitus.
