Subsequently, Sharma et al.[16] re-considered the role of four CD44 polymorphisms (rs13347, rs353639, rs187116 and rs187115) and gall bladder cancer (GBC) risk, and they found no significant difference in the frequency distribution of selected polymorphisms in GBC cases when compared with controls at either allelic or genotypic levels in a North Indian population. The gene discussed is CD44; the disease is gallbladder cancer.
