The notion that YM155-induced survivin depletion is not a consequence of DNA damage induction in neuroblastoma cells was further supported by data showing that irradiation-induced DNA damage did not decrease the survivin levels in UKF-NB-3 cells but rather resulted in enhanced survivin levels, both in the presence and in the absence of p53 (Figure 6a and Supplementary Figure 6). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and neuroblastoma.
