BIRC5 and neuroblastoma: Taken together, these findings demonstrate that survivin is a critical target in neuroblastoma cells, that the anti-neuroblastoma effects of YM155 involve survivin depletion (prior to DNA damage induction), and that p53 is involved in mediating anti-neuroblastoma effects as a consequence of RNAi- or YM155-induced reduction of cellular survivin levels.
