CRP and neoplasm: Univariate analyses identified tumor size (≤5.5 vs >5.5 cm, P = 0.001), a high tumor stage (stage I/II vs III/IV, P = 0.007), nodal metastasis (absent vs presence, P = 0.011), vascular invasion (absent vs presence, P = 0.001), elevated CA19-9 (≤35 vs >35 U/ml, P = 0.016), and a high serum CRP level (≤1.8 vs >1.8 mg/L, P = 0.001) as poor prognostic factors for CSS.
