To further understand the clinical relevance of our data and verify the association between loss of ESE3/EHF, IL-6 upregulation and STAT3 activation with aggressive features in prostate tumors, we selected a group of tumors characterized by high level of IL-6 and low level of ESE3/EHF (IL-6high/ESE3low) (Figure 7A) in a large primary prostate tumor dataset [21].
