Treatment with I-BET151 completely blocked UUO-induced increase of phospho-histone H3 in the kidney (Figure 11A and 11B).Therefore, our data indicate that BET protein inhibition may also attenuate renal fibrosis by reducing the number of renal epithelial cells arrested at the G2/M stage of the cell cycle and subsequently decrease the production of some profibrotic factors.
