Nevertheless, it is tempting to speculate that, in the patients suffering aortic stenosis or severe hypertension, CaV1.2e21+22 channels may reemerge in the heart and disturb the expression and activity of CaV1.2 channels, in particular of those channels localized in the caveolae, and consequently lead to cardiac hypertrophy. Here, CACNA1C is linked to cardiac hypertrophy.
