To examine whether the alternative splicing isoform CaV1.2e21+22 in neonatal heart reemerges in the hypertrophic adult heart, we performed transverse aortic constriction (TAC) surgery on the mice as done previously8 to generate pressure-overload induced cardiac hypertrophy that gradually develops and reaches a peak on day 14 after TAC surgery20. The gene discussed is CAV1; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
