Sirius Red staining of liver sections used to measure hepatic fibrosis revealed that WT mice on the FSD had a nearly five fold increased hepatic collagen content relative to the WT mice on the RD (n = 5, p<0.01), while Txnip-KO mice had comparable levels to WT mice on the RD regardless of the diet they were fed (Figure 3d). The gene discussed is TXNIP; the disease is hepatitis A virus infection.
