The CSF levels of synaptotagmin (tryptic peptides 215–223 and 238–245) correlated with the levels of total tau and phosphorylated tau in both the control group (sample sets I and II) and in patients with dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease (sample sets I and II), but not in patients with MCI due to Alzheimer’s disease (sample set II) (Table 2). The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is dementia.
