As expected, FGF21 levels were positively correlated with obesity traits (P < 0.001), blood pressures (P < 0.001), lipid profiles and unfavorable blood glucose/insulin traits (all P < 0.05), whereas adiponectin had the opposite correlations with metabolic profiles compared with FGF21, but these associations were not modified by the way of vitamin D influencing on betatrophin.
