IFNA1 and neoplasm: Such a view is supported by studies showing that cells with defects Type I and Type II IFN signaling components are more susceptible to spontaneous and induced tumor formation [16,17,18,19,20,21] and by studies showing that many malignancies are associated with deregulated/defective IFN-signaling cascades [19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27] (Figure 1).
