Inhibition of mTOR decreases VEGF expression in human rhabdomyosarcoma cell lines and xenografts, reduces tumor angiogenesis in human rhabdomyosarcoma xenografts [9, 10], and decreases VEGF expression and ezrin-mediated metastatic and invasive behavior in murine osteosarcoma cell lines [11, 12], suggesting that mTOR inhibition may be promising for treatment of sarcomas. The gene discussed is MTOR; the disease is neoplasm.
