Using non-small-cell lung cancer cells in their seminal study, Yeung et al.17 demonstrated that Sirt1 inhibited NF-κB transactivation potential by directly deacetylating the RelA/p65 protein at lysine 310, and thus augmented apoptosis in response to TNF-α. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
