In our recent study, intake of dietary resveratrol, a polyphenol, increased the number and function (uptake of lipids) of CD68+ resident Kupffer cells which in turn markedly suppressed the steatosis of hepatocytes in HFD mice42, whereas resveratrol decreased the number of TNF producing CD11b+ Mφs in the liver42. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and steatosis.
