In particular, T2D WT mice exhibited significantly increased kidney/body weight ratio relative to the WT mice (KW/BW, 31.8±7.7 x 10−3 in T2D vs. 6.7 ±0.5 x 10−3 in control), which was partially but significantly rescued by NLRC4-deficiency (18.6±9.4 x 10−3, P < 0.05 relative to T2D WT mice) (Table 1).
