In the mouse TAA model, cytokeratin (CK) 19-positive biliary lineage cells appear around the CVs in the liver, are distinct from cholangiocytes lining the intrahepatic bile ducts in the portal areas of the hepatic lobule, and contribute to the development of ICC after prolonged exposure to TAA8. The gene discussed is KRT19; the disease is intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.
