MTOR and heart failure: Some studies suggested that inhibition of mTOR signaling is closely related to the pathogenesis of cardiac hypertrophy23, which may cause heart failure, and lead to morbidity and mortality39, 40; other studies demonstrated that inhibition of mTOR signaling induced acute cardiotoxicity41; our Western blot analyses showed that raw PR significantly decreased the phosphorylation of mTOR in heart tissues compared to the vehicle, suggesting that inhibition of mTOR signaling may contribute to raw PR-induced cardiotoxicity.
