The levels of hypoxia-inducible factor-2α (HIF2α) promoter upstream transcript (HIF2PUT), a novel lncRNA, were assessed via quantitative polymerase chain reaction in 17 osteosarcoma tissue specimens, and the data demonstrated that HIF2PUT functions as an osteosarcoma stem cell inhibitor in vitro partly by controlling HIF2α expression. This evidence concerns the gene EPAS1 and osteosarcoma.
