The serum levels of TNF-α, CRP, TGF-β, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-17, and IL-23 were all increased on days 1, 3, and 7 after stroke when compared with levels in the control group (all p < 0.05; Figure 4A); however, the content of IFN-γ was lower in stroke patients than in controls at each time point (p < 0.01; Figure 4A).
